Whether your community knows you best for sharing cheap flight deals or vlogs of you traveling through Europe, there’s a real opportunity to start monetizing your travel content.
Take Dana from Somewhere Worthwhile, for example. She turned her real-life travel experience into a business by selling stress-free Disney World planning guides, insider tips, and digital resources that help people plan their family vacations with less overwhelm. Her audience trusts her to break down the complicated process of Disney travel, so they’re happy to pay for exclusive access to her best advice.
No matter your niche, you can do the same. In this post, I’ll walk you through how to create a travel website and start monetizing your content!

Ways to Turn Your Travel Content into Income
If people trust your travel advice, you can easily set up a website where you sell paid subscriber access to exclusive content, from newsletters to podcasts to content libraries filled with travel guides, videos, and eBooks.
Here are some ways you can monetize your expertise:
- Vlog membership: Share exclusive travel videos, behind-the-scenes content, and in-depth trip breakdowns for paying subscribers.
- 1:1 travel planning: Offer personalized trip planning, custom itineraries, and destination-specific consultations.
- Digital travel guides: Sell eBooks, PDFs, or interactive city guides for niche destinations like Disney World, budget travel, or hidden gem spots.
- Paid travel newsletter: Charge a monthly fee for curated flight deals, last-minute getaways, or destination recommendations.
- Private travel community: Create a members-only group with real-time advice, local insights, and exclusive Q&As.
- Travel itinerary bundles: Sell pre-made trip plans, including accommodations, must-see spots, and local tips.
Now, let’s go step by step on how to create your travel website and start selling access to your content.
Step 1: Launch Your Travel Website
First things first – you need a website. If you already have one, great! You can skip to step 2. If not, don’t worry – it’s easier than you think.
Start by picking a website builder. If you’re looking for something simple and easy to set up, Squarespace is my go-to. It has travel-friendly templates, and you don’t need to mess with code. If you want more flexibility and customization, WordPress is a solid option, but it does take a little more setup.
Once you’ve picked your platform, grab a domain name (something short and easy to remember) from a platform like Namecheap or directly through your website builder.
Some pages you might want to start with:
- A homepage that introduces what you offer
- A sales page explaining your membership or digital products
- A contact page so people can reach out with questions
Once your site is live, you’re ready for the fun part – turning it into a money-making membership site!

Step 2: Convert Your Website into a Membership Site
Right now, your website is just a regular site. To start charging for access, you need a way to lock certain pages and accept payments. That’s where MemberSpace comes in.
MemberSpace lets you add a paywall to any part of your website. All you have to do is add a snippet of code, which only takes a few minutes.
Step 3: Add Exclusive Content to Your Site
Now that your website is set up to accept payments, it’s time to add the content you’re selling. Whether it’s digital products like travel guides and itineraries or a membership with exclusive videos and resources, the process is simple—just upload your content to pages on your website.

Step 4: Gate Your Pages
To ensure only paying customers get access to your exclusive content, you’ll need to gate your members-only pages. Just tell us which pages of your website are members-only by going to Products in your MemberSpace dashboard. Then, add the URLs for those pages, and our paywall will instantly appear, like the one you see below on Dana’s website.

Step 5: Create your Pricing Plans
To accept payments for your exclusive content, you’ll need to set up your pricing plans in MemberSpace. You can choose however you’d like to charge customers, whether it’s a one-time payment, recurring subscription, or a multiple payment plan. You can even make some of your content available for free!
After setting up your payment plan, you’ll get a signup link that you can add to your site. When someone clicks the link, it’ll prompt them to create an account and pay. Then they’ll instantly get access to the content that’s a part of the plan they’ve chosen!

What About a Travel Agent Website?
So, what if you’re a travel agent offering individualized content to your customers, like custom itineraries, personalized packing lists, budget breakdowns, and recommendations based on the client’s preferences and interests?
You’ll follow the same general process we’ve outlined above; however, you’ll need to create an individual page for each of your clients where you’ll add their custom content. Here’s an example of what this might look like:
![travel itinerary page](https://www.memberspace.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/travel-itinerary-page-1024x640.webp)
Then, you’ll create an individual pricing plan for that client, which allows you to charge them for the custom content and services that are a part of their package.

Final Thoughts
If you’ve built a following around your travel content, there’s no reason you shouldn’t be making money from it. Whether it’s selling itineraries, premium travel guides, or memberships, you can turn your knowledge into a profitable business while giving your audience even more value.
And you don’t need a huge audience to make this work – just people who trust your recommendations and want exclusive, high-quality content that makes their travel planning easier.
Let us know if you have any questions, and good luck!
